Wallace unhappy with booking

Preston North End, 17:52, December 1, 2009

Preston winger Ross Wallace has defended his goal celebration that lead to a steward being injured during the 1-1 draw with Blackpool.

The Scotland international curled in a brilliant freekick in the first half to cancel out Billy Clarke's opener on 25 seconds in what was a hotly contested Lancashire derby at Bloomfield Road.

After drawing his side level Wallace celebrated in front of the travelling supporters, who spilled forward injuring a steward and with Wallace being booked as a result, a decision the 24-year-old didn't agree with.

"I slid along the touchline, I didn't go off the pitch," said Wallace.

"When I was being booked the referee told me it was for encouraging the fans to go on to the pitch.

"I didn't do that, it's a stupid rule about goal celebrations - at least I didn't take my shirt off this time
