QPR skipper Joey Barton has lent his support to the FA's appointment of Roy Hodgson as the manager of England.
The West Brom boss was the surprise choice of the FA after everyone had expected the post to be handed to Spurs boss Harry Redknapp.
But Barton believes they have made the right choice and that everyone should now get behind the new England boss.
He told the BBC: "I think it's a very, very shrewd appointment by the FA.
"He's got the track record.
"He's coached international football before and there's a big difference between that and Club football.
"You have a lot less involvement with the players on a daily basis and you're managing other Manager's players.
"It's not a straightforward role, but he's got a wealth of experience at home and abroad and in major tournaments, so I'm sure it will bode well."
