Bircham handed new QPR role
Queens Park Rangers,
Marc Bircham has been named as head coach of QPR's elite development squad.
The 34-year-old former midfielder had been youth development assistant manager at Loftus Road. However, Bircham will now oversee the reserves and under-21s under the guidance of Glyn Hodges, who was appointed QPR's head of coaching last month. "I am really pleased to take on this role," Bircham told the club's official website, www.qpr.co.uk. "With the new EPPP (Elite Player Performance Plan) system which has been brought in, it is an important part of the club's development. "Having been so heavily involved with the youth set-up I always keep a close eye on how the lads are progressing, so it is great for me to continue working with them."
