Youth team coach Marc Bircham is staying at QPR after rejecting the chance to become director of football with Nottingham Forest.

Bircham, who made over 150 appearances for the club during his playing days, was reportedly wanted by Forest who are on the brink of a takeover by the Al-Hasawi family. Former R's chairman Gianni Paladini is thought to have recommended the 34-year-old for the role at the City Ground in his capacity as an advisor to the Championship club's likely investors. However, the lifelong Rangers fan has no intention of accepting the job after recently been handed extra responsibility by the Premier League outfit to manage a newly created development squad at Loftus Road. A report in the Sunday People claimed Forest would have given Bircham the task of developing young talent for their first team as well as the recruitment of new players.
