QPR midfielder Alejandro Faurlin has revealed his delight at returning to action after a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Faurlin managed to complete 15 minutes of QPR's pre-season encounter with German outfit FC Augsburg after six months on the sidelines with a cruciate ligament injury.
The Argentine midfielder is now eager to impress and stake a claim for a place in the starting side after his injury frustration.
He told the club's website: "It felt great to be back.
"It's been a really tough six and a half months for me. It's been a long time, with a lot of hard work.
"The support I've had from my family; my wife; my team-mates; everyone at the club - it has been amazing and it means so much to be back playing.
"I feel like I've come back to life!"
QPR take on Swansea at Loftus Road in their first Premier League game of the campaign and Faurlin is eager to be involved as soon as possible, although he admits he still needs to build up his match fitness.
He added: "It was only 15 minutes but it meant the world to me. It gives me something to build on now and I can't wait for the season to start.
"I still need some more minutes over the next few weeks. I need to play some more football and then hopefully I'll be ready."
