QPR boss Mark Hughes has reportedly decided Birmingham keeper Ben Foster is the man he wants to be his number one next season.
Hughes has been linked with several top keepers in the past few weeks as he weighs up replacing veteran Paddy Kenny for the club's second season back in the Premier League. Foster, West Ham's Rob Green, Spurs' reserve Heurelho Gomes and released Sunderland stopper Craig Gordon were all considered by the R's boss but he has apparently decided Foster is the man and is preparing a £5million bid. The former Manchester United youngster remains on Blues' books but is widely expected to be allowed to move on with the club in the Championship, provided they receive the right offer, which is believed to be in excess of £6million. Foster spent last season on loan at West Brom and impressed as he helped the Baggies stay up. They remain keen on a permanent deal but currently have no manager so QPR appear in the driving seat to land Foster at the moment.
