QPR firm up interest in Dawson

QPR have made a formal offer for Tottenham defender Michael Dawson, Press Association Sport understands.

The precise value of the bid was unclear on Tuesday afternoon, with various reports suggesting it ranged from £5.5million all the way up to £10million. But it is understood a deal is close and that Dawson could be set to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical soon. Rangers are in the market for another centre-back, with their need seemingly becoming more pressing after the weekend's 5-0 home thrashing by Swansea.
