R's eye Reds striker swoop
Queens Park Rangers,
Mark Hughes wants to lure Craig Bellamy to QPR from Liverpool but may face a struggle as Reds boss Brendan Rodgers wants him to stay.
Bellamy has a year left on his Reds deal and Rodgers is believed to have told the Welshman, who is part of Team GB's Olympic Football squad, that he wants him to stay and play a part in his Anfield revolution.
However, a tempting offer from the Hoops, where he could work with Hughes again after the pair were together at Manchester City, Blackburn and the Wales national side, may be too good to turn down for the striker, who is 33 today.
Rodgers has said he has spoken to Bellamy and has made it clear he wants him to stay but admitted "a unique opportunity" could see him leave.
"He's a good guy. He has a real passion for Liverpool and that's the type I want here," the Liverpool boss said.
"It would take a really special and unique opportunity for Craig to walk out on Liverpool and for us to go our separate ways."
Championship side Cardiff, Bellamy's home-town club and the place he spent a season on loan in 2010-11, are also interested should the much-travelled forward decide he wants to move on again.
