QPR boss Mark Hughes is said to have agreed a deal in principle to bring Real Madrid defender Ricardo Carvalho to Loftus Road on loan.
The former Chelsea defender appears to have fallen out with Jose Mourinho at Real, after he was left out of their pre-season tour of the USA, and he appears to be available for transfer and a season long-deal is in the pipeline. Spurs were interested in the 34-year old but QPR appear to have won the race to land him and he could find himself partnered alongside England international Michael Dawson, who is close to agreeing a deal at Loftus Road. Hughes has moved quickly to try and sure up his backline, following Saturday's 5-0 home drubbing by Swansea, and will hope to have both deals done in time for the centre-back duo to be available for the weekend trip to Norwich.
