Blair confirms Gers omission

Rangers were omitted from the SPL fixture list after an application was made to transfer their place to a newco, Iain Blair confirmed.
It is still uncertain whether a newco Rangers will be established if they are forced into liquidation and SPL secretary Blair says the club could still be demoted. If that is the case then it remains to be seen whether relegated Dunfermline will take the place of the Gers or Dundee, who were runners-up to promoted Ross County in the Irn-Bru First Division. "Following the failure of Rangers FC to exit administration via a CVA (Company Voluntary Arrangement), we have received an application to register the transfer of their SPL share to a newco," Blair revealed. "Should it be rejected, then another club may be invited to join the SPL for season 2012/13." It also means Kilmarnock still do not know who they will play in their opening fixture of the new season.
