Bougherra doubtful for Buddies clash

Rangers, 14:46, March 4, 2010 ,

Rangers face an anxious wait over the fitness of Madjid Bougherra after the defender sat out Algeria's friendly against Serbia.

The 27-year-old played in Sunday's victorious Old Firm clash only to aggravate a hamstring problem, even though he flew out to meet up with his countrymen within hours of the final whistle.
However, Algeria decided not to risk the former Charlton centre-back on Wednesday night as Serbia ran out comfortbale 3-0 winners.
Gers physio Pip Yeates will assess Bougherra's fitness for Saturday's clash against St Mirren at Ibrox but he remains a doubt.
Danny Wilson, an unused substitute for Scotland Under-21s in midweek, is the man most likely to fill the shoes of the Algerian if Bougherra fails to make it.
