Darcheville drops Marseille hint
Rangers, 12:34, November 7, 2008 ,
Striker Jean-Claude Darcheville has admitted he would like to leave Rangers for a return to France following interest from Marseille.
The 33-year-old has struggled for first-team action at Ibrox this term due to the arrival of strikers Kenny Miller, Kyle Lafferty, Andrius Velicka and the return to form of Kris Boyd. And with Marseille reportedly expressing a desire to take him back to his homeland, Darcheville appears open to a move.
He told the French press: "There is no doubt Marseille will always be a legendary club. I'm not sure I could refuse that kind of offer."
Darcheville only signed a new two-year deal with Rangers last summer, but with boss Walter Smith looking to trim his squad and recoup some funds, it is thought he would happily let the forward leave in January.
