Rangers boss Walter Smith has confirmed that Sasa Papac is close to penning a new deal at Ibrox.
Smith has been delighted with the player's form for the Gers this season and says he deserves a new contract for the way he adapted to playing at left-back.
"I would hope it would be finalised this week," Smith told the Daily Record. "Sasa is going to meet Martin and hopefully it will be sorted out as he has been doing well.
"He came here as a centre-half but has adapted to his new role at left-back and shown he is a really good footballer. He deserves great credit."
