Gers boss looking towards midfielder

Rangers, 14:30, September 16, 2009 ,

Walter Smith says he won't decide on his starting eleven to face Stuttgart until the last minute but could include Kevin Thomson.

The Gers were beaten 3-2 the last time they visited Stuttgart but after a poor start to the season for the German side, Smith might fancy his chances of recording a rare European away win.
The Rangers boss has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the game, but could include Kevin Thomson, despite the midfielder having played just won competitive game since November.
Smith will also have to decide on whether to include Jerome Rothen in his line-up, after the French winger made his debut in the 0-0 against Motherwell on Saturday.
Rangers are still without long-term absentees Maurice Edu and Kirk Broadfoot who are both someway off returning.
