Gers chief rejects takeover claims

Rangers, 14:17, November 30, 2009 ,

Sir David Murray has rejected talk of a bid to buy Rangers by US-based Scottish millionaire Graham Duffy.

Duffy, who currently lives in Florida, has been mentioned as a potential Ibrox saviour with suggestions that he may help transfer the ownership into the hands of the supporters.
But Gers owner Murray has described the speculation as 'unbelievable', although he insists that he remains 'totally prepared' to sell the club.
Speaking in an interview, Sir David stated: "I've made it quite clear that with the banking facility, the club would have to work within its financial means.
"When the speculation got mischievous was when people started talking about mysterious Florida millionaires. It was unbelievable."
Murray added: "For the record, I will repeat that I am totally prepared to sell the club. Price is important but it is not the most important factor."
