McLeish set for Ibrox raid
Rangers, 17:25, January 6, 2009 ,
Birmingham City have been linked with a January transfer window bid for Rangers striker Kris Boyd.
Blues' former Gers' boss Alex McLeish is looking to bolster his forward line at St Andrews as Garry O'Connor is sidelined by injury and Quincy Owusu-Abeyie's loan period came to an end. And it is claimed he would like to take 25-year-old, Boyd, who is the top scorer in the Scottish Premier League with 18 goals.
McLeish signed Boyd for Rangers and handed him an international call-up when in charge of Scotland so is a big fan of the player. However with his good form this season and Rangers' decision to sell Alan Gow to Wolves means it is unlikely that Boyd will be one of the next players to be offloaded from Ibrox this month.
