Reading news

Nicknamed the Royals, Reading were formed in 1871 and reached the top division for the first time in their history in 2006.

Reading played at their former home Elm Park from 1896 to 1998, when the club moved to the new Madejski Stadium – named after chairman John Madejski.

Notable former players include Kerry Dixon, Jimmy Quinn, Neil Webb, Shaka Hislop and Phil Parkinson.
