Boss coy on new signings
Brian McDermott says he is delighted with his Reading squad but has refused to rule out further additions before the deadline.
The Royals boss has managed to add seven new players to his ranks since winning promotion to the Premier League, but there could still be room for one more if the right player comes along. McDermott is delighted with the strength in his squad but that does not mean the cheque book is closed, especially if he picks up an injury before the end of the month. "Not overly. We've got two players for every position which is what I always wanted," the boss revealed when asked if he was looking to strengthen. "If something comes off late in the window then maybe but there's nothing in the pipeline. "We've got experienced players; players who have played in the league. And we've got players who are at a good age - they all are. They're all hungry, that's the most important thing. We've got a group that wants to do well and get better. "We've had a core group together now for quite a long time so I think that augurs well for us."
