Simon Church says he is ready to stay and fight for his place at Reading despite speculation linking him with a move away.
The youngster started just 17 games for the Royals in the Championship last season and competition for a place in attack will be even tougher in the Premier League campaign. Church will pushed even further down the pecking order following the arrival of Pavel Pogrebnyak while Huddersfield Town striker Jordan Rhodes could also be heading to the Madejski Stadium. Bolton and Leicester City have both been linked with a move for the striker but Church is confident in his own ability and believes he can force his way into the Royals side next season. "Last season was tremendous for Reading," he revealed. "We finished up as champions, we're up into the Premier League and it's great for the club and the town. "Now I'm confident I can have a good run in the Premier League. I believe in my own ability and hopefully I can play some games."
