Huddersfield look to have won the race to sign Reading striker Simon Church on a season-long loan deal.

Church has been attracting plenty of interest from clubs in the Championship but reports claim the Terriers have pipped Ipswich Town and Nottingham Forest to his services. The 23-year-old is expected to struggle for a regular place in the Royals side following their return to the Premier League and Brian McDermott believes a spell away on loan will be best all round. Church bagged seven goals last season as the Royals won promotion and Huddersfield will be hoping the Wales international can have a similar impact for them in the forthcoming season. If a deal does go through, Church is likely to partner Reading target Jordan Rhodes in the Huddersfield attack.
