Clarets ace linked
Reading are reported to be lining up a swoop for Burnley's prolific striker Charlie Austin when the transfer window re-opens.
Austin is starting to attract plenty of interest after firing home 15 goals in 12 games for the Clarets and Royals boss Brian McDermott is keen to bring him back to the club.
Reading released Austin as a 15-year-old and it will now cost them big money to get him back if Burnley decide to cash in.
Clarets boss Eddie Howe is under no immediate pressure to cash in after selling Jay Rodriguez to Southampton for £7million in the summer, and he would be looking for something simliar before letting Austin go.
The 23-year-old is also attracting interest from Fulham and West Brom so McDermott will face a battle to land the player should he pursue a move in January.
