Consistancy the key - Ingimarsson

Reading, 13:02, November 18, 2008 ,

Ivar Ingimarsson has rejected suggestions that promotion is a three horse race between the Royals, Woves and Birmingham.

The win over Sheffield United has opened up a four point gap over fourth placed Burnley but despite the difference Ingimarsson refuses to believe the race is down to just three teams for the two automatic promotion slots.
"Birmingham and Wolves won again on Saturday," he told the Reading Evening Post. "They are good teams who will continue to collect points and we just need to do the same.
"It's not a three-horse race, though, because it's such a long season.
"A few seasons ago Crystal Palace were third from bottom in January and ended up going up.
"This league is so long it's almost like two seasons in one. Things can change so quickly if you win a few or lose a few games.
"Before Saturday's game we were third with six or seven teams only three or four points behind us. If you lose a couple of times you can drop quickly.
"The team that wins this league will be the one that is most consistent throughout the season and that's what we need to be."
