Defender deal in balance
Reading's bid to sign Stoppila Sunzu is up in the air over a contract row between the defender and his club TP Mazembe.
The Royals thought they were close to wrapping up a deal for the Zambian international after agreeing a fee of £2.5million with his club but the move is now hanging in the balance. According to reports, Sunzu believes he is a free agent while Mazembe say he is under contract until 2015. Either way the deal is now on hold and the Royals may have to look elsewhere if they wish to land a new defender before the transfer window closes next week. Birmingham City's Curtis Davies is also said to be a target and a fee of £1.5million would be enough to secure a deal as the cash-strapped Blues need to raise funds.
