Danny Guthrie has apologised for his outburst on Twitter over his axing from the Reading starting XI to face Newcastle last Saturday.
The former Newcastle player took to the social networking site to express his frustration with being left out from the team to face his old club, revealing he had a bust-up with manager Brian McDermott in the process. Having played a part in every other league game up to that point Guthrie admitted he was "bitterly disappointed" not to play and hinted McDermott left him out because he was struggling to adapt to his style of play. The Royals boss has now revealed Guthrie has said sorry for his outburst and has been included in the matchday squad for Saturday's trip to Swansea. McDermott said: "Danny apologises for putting that on Twitter. I want him to do the talking in games."
