James Harper is pushing for a recall to the Reading starting line-up for the club's home clash against Doncaster on Tuesday.
Boss Steve Coppell is poised to name an unchanged squad for the visit of Rovers despite his side slipping to a 2-1 defeat at Preston at the weekend.
Harper, however, could come into the eleven after coming on at Deepdale and he is now fully fit after recovering from his calf injury.
Elsewhere, midfielder Brynjar Gunnarsson showed no reaction on Saturday to the minor knock he suffered on international duty with Iceland so he should also start against Doncaster.
Czech Republic midfielder Marek Matejovsky, meanwhile, is still short of fitness as he recovers from his ankle injury while club captain Graeme Murty and fellow defender Michael Duberry remain sidelined with calf injuries.
