Henry waits in wings

Reading, 17:36, December 9, 2008

Reading will hand James Henry his first start of the season tonight unless Jimmy Kebe's ban is overturned on appeal.

Kebe was sent off following a clash with Barnsley's Dennis Souza at the weekend but Royals boss Steve Coppell has decided to appeal against the dismissal.

Coppell told the Post: "I had a really good view of it. Jimmy petulantly half-pushed the player (Souza), but there was no violent conduct or serious foul play.

"The ref (Clive Oliver) said he saw it out of the corner of his eye, so I think he didn't really see. The linesman didn't signal a foul and the centre-half played on and didn't react."

"I just want the ref to review it and see if what happened actually happened, instead of what he thinks happened."

Kebe faces the possibility of having his suspension extended if the Football Association's disciplinary commission deems it to be a frivolous appeal.
