Ice ace happy with Royals deal

Reading, 13:13, December 1, 2009

Reading's Icelandic midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson has expressed his delight at signing a new three-year deal at the club.

He was also delighted with scoring for the side against Derby at the weekend but that was tempered by the fact the team could not hold on to their lead and went down to the Rams.
"We weren't good enough after we scored, we should have taken the game to them and controlled it," he told the club's website.
"It was good to get a goal but I would have preferred the three points.
"They were there for the taking, but the niggles went against us and that's the way it goes sometimes when you're away from home. We need to get on with it now and prepare for next Saturday.
"I'm here for another two and a half seasons now, I always wanted to be here when I came here at the age of 15 so I'm happy to be here for another three years."
