Reading have signed goalkeeper Stuart Taylor on a one-year deal after Mikkel Andersen joined Portsmouth on loan.
The signing of Taylor comes as no surprise and has been in the pipeline since he was released by Premier League champions Manchester City at the end of last season. The former Arsenal keeper had impressed while on trial at the Madejski Stadium and boss Brian McDermott has opted to hand him a 12-month contract. The Royals were waiting for Andersen to join Pompey on loan before finalising the deal for the 31-year-old who will now provide further cover for current number one Adam Federici. Andersen meanwhile played the full 90 minutes of Portsmouth's 1-1 League One draw with Bournemouth.
