Reading boss Brian McDermott has warned his players to not get carried away with their current league position and to remain focused.

Currently, Reading sit second in the Championship following a tough 1-0 win over Brighton and are tied on points with leaders Southampton, who they face on Friday in a crucial tie that could decide the title. However, the Royals would still have a remaining three games and, as McDermott has pointed out, anything could happen should they tail off and focus only on their position, not the individual fixtures against Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace and Birmingham City. Speaking to Sky Sports News, he said: "Individually you have to stop yourself getting ahead of yourself. "I do that myself, I just concentrate solely on what we have to do and I try to keep thinking about what we have to do with preparation and what we have to do during the games. "We have to take each and every game individually, forget looking too far ahead and don't look back. "We've got four games to go, we've put ourselves in a really good position and we just have to keep going. "We've got a real resilience and character about the group, you saw that in the victory against Brighton. We've just got to keep that going."
