Reading will be without Marek Matejovsky with a stomach injury for the FA Cup fourth-round clash with Burnley.
The Czech midfielder looks likely to be out for a further three weeks but new signing Andy Griffin is set for a debut.
Caretaker boss Brian McDermott has no fresh injury worries but may still make a few changes to his side, with Grzegorz Rasiak coming in alongside Simon Church.
Noel Hunt and Chris Armstrong both remain on the sidelines due to long-term knee injuries.
