Polish star linked with Royals

Reading are showing an interest Poland international Sebastian Boenisch who is available on a free transfer.

The 25-year-old defender is on the look out for a new club after turning down a new contract with Werder Bremen and it is thought he would prefer a move to the Premier League. Stuttgart have decided against offering him the chance to stay in Germany and reports now claim that Reading will battle with Newcastle and West Ham for his signature. Boenisch's favoured position is left-back but he can also play down the right and was a part of the Poland squad that failed to make through the group stage at Euro 2012. Reading have today completed the paperwork to confirm the signing of Danny Guthrie and boss Brian McDermott is now ready to move on to his next target.
