Brian McDermott has saluted Hal Robson-Kanu and says he will have a key role to play in Reading's Premier League campaign.
The Wales international bagged his second goal in as many games as the Royals fought back to earn a 1-1 draw against Brighton on Tuesday night and he is firmly in the thoughts of McDermott ahead of the new season.
The Reading chief is still not sure what kind of team he will pick to face Stoke on the opening day of the season but Robson-Kanu has done himself no harm ahead of the big kick off.
"It was a great header, and you always know our players will keep going to the end, they have done it again," McDermott revealed. "Hal is part of a great group of players and, whatever team we put out for Stoke, everyone will be supporting each other.
"We have 38 games plus the cup which is a lot of matches. I've got two players for each position which is what I wanted."
