Rodgers hoping to welcome back star

Reading, 14:53, September 18, 2009 ,

Reading boss Brendan Rodgers is hoping to welcome back Brynjar Gunnarsson for the trip to Peterborough.

The Iceland international was forced off last Saturday in the goalless draw with Doncaster after picking up a hip injury and was then forced to sit out the 1-0 defeat to Cardiff on Wednesday night.
He has made great progress this week, though, and should be fit to take on Posh this weekend.
Club captain Ivar Ingimarsson is again expected to be just a substitute after he made a welcome return to the bench after eight months out with a knee injury but Jobi McAnuff (back) and Chris Armstrong (knee) remain on the long-term injured list.
