Rodgers sets his sights on striker
Reading, 19:42, November 20, 2009 ,
Brendan Rodgers has no fresh injury worries for Reading's game against Blackpool but he would like to add a new striker to the squad.
The Royals are desperate for a change in fortune at the Madejski Stadium, after a run of 17 games stretching back to January without a Championship win at home.
Shane Long is ruled out still by an ankle injury so Simon Church, who scored his first goal for Wales last weekend, will partner Grzegorz Rasiak in attack with Noel Hunt facing months out after knee surgery.
The striking problems at the club have now forced Rodgers to consider a move into the loan market.
The Reading boss said: "I feel what would add to the group is what we call a link striker.
"I won't just bring anyone in for the sake of it though, it has to be the right person with the right DNA and our search for that continues."
Full-backs Chris Armstrong and Julian Kelly will miss this weekend game with a knee and shoulder problem respectively.
