Rodgers sticks to his guns
Reading, 13:05, October 1, 2009 ,
Reading boss Brendan Rodgers says he is ready to trim his squad down to a manageable size when the team find some consistency.
Rodgers has not been afraid to change the side from game to game this season and has repeated his desire to continue to tinker.
He told the club's website: "I've already said this week that once we got consistency in our squad, and I am looking to trim down the squad, that will help us.
"Look at Preston, up until this week they only had three players who played every game and I don't think people will be asking Alan about that.
"When I came in we lost some big players so I am finding out what I have got. I can only do that by playing players, and I've mixed young and experienced players, which can take bravery.
"Sometimes you take stick for that but we are going forwards. You have to give players the opportunity to show what they have got."
