Roeder eyes season-long Lita swoop

Reading, 14:19, December 29, 2008

Glenn Roeder has confirmed he wants to keep Reading striker Leroy Lita at Norwich on loan until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old has scored seven goals in 17 appearances for the Canaries since moving to Carrow Road at the start of October and Roeder has made no secret of his desire to hang onto the former England Under-21 international.

He is due to return to Reading later this week and Roeder said: "We want Leroy to stay and we are working hard to make that happen.

"We would like to extend the deal to a half-season loan.

"Reading know that and Leroy has said he would very much like to stay."
