Royals to rumble with Posh

Barclays Premier League newcomers Reading have been drawn against Peterborough in the second round of the Capital One Cup.

Brian McDermott's side will host the npower Championship club at the Madejski Stadium during the week commencing August 27. The Royals were on the wrong end of a cup upset in last season's competition as they were beaten 2-1 at League One outfit Charlton. Reading have struggled against lower league opposition in the League Cup in recent years, also going out on penalties to Northampton after needing extra-time to beat Torquay during the 2010/11 season.
