Jason Roberts says there is no rush to sign a new deal with Reading and is confident it will get sorted sooner rather than later.
Roberts has 12 months remaining on his current deal, after joining the Royals from Blackburn in January, and both parties are keen to hammer out terms on a fresh deal.
The 34-year-old's experience will be invaluable to Reading on their return to the Premier League and his contract is on hold while everyone focuses on the big kick off.
"It's a relaxed conversation and I can't see it being an issue," Roberts revealed. "It will get sorted in time and it won't be a problem. Since I came to this club I think I have shown what I am about and will continue to do that.
"All I can do now is focus on the football and focus on the opportunity we have given ourselves by performing so well last year."
Roberts scored 6 goals in 17 appearances in the second half of the season as Reading went on to win the Championship and a similar return would do very nicely in the top flight.
