Striker linked with switch

Aston Villa are again being linked with a £7million swoop for Reading striker Kevin Doyle, who was a target in the summer.

Villa boss Martin O'Neill tried to land the Republic of Ireland international in the summer but the Royals managed to keep hold of their star man before the window closed.
Doyle is still a target for O'Neill though and reports claim he could even throw in Marlon Harewood as part of any deal in the hope it will persuade Reading to cash in.
However, the Royals want straight cash if they are to consider letting the 25-year-old go and a bid in the region of £7million maybe enough to seal a deal.
Doyle scored 19 goals during Reading's two seasons in the Premiership and O'Neill believes he will add even more quality to an already potent looking Villa attack.
