Winger in Wolves talks

Reading, 14:41, August 6, 2009

Reading midfielder James Harper is in talks with Wolves over a switch to the Premier League new boys.

Royals boss Brendan Rogers has confirmed he gave the former Arsenal man permission to speak to Wolves boss Mick McCarthy, though he stressed the deal was far from complete.
Rodgers told the Evening Chronicle: "He travelled up to meet with Mick (McCarthy). There is interest there. He went up to speak to them yesterday but now he is back training with us.
"He spoke to Mick and they are keen to get him but at the moment it is still in the balance."
Harper has made 309 appearances for Reading since moving from the Gunners in 2001.
