Winger to bounce back

Reading, 12:21, December 16, 2008

Reading winger James Henry claims that being dropped by Steve Coppell will make him a stronger player in the long term.

Henry was left out of the side which beat Norwich at the weekend as Coppell went instead with Marek Matejovsky on the right wing but he still set up the second goal after coming on as a substitute.
"Obviously I was disappointed to be left out against Norwich, but it's the gaffer's decision and the boys played really well," Henry told the Post.
"He (Coppell) just said I could have done a little bit better, which is fine. I have to improve and I think I did when I came on. I did what I had to do to show him what I'm about.
"I had the assist but it's not just the cross. I had to chase down balls in the corner and push our way into the game.
"I accepted the decision. I just need to push on and prove I have enough to get in that team.
"It makes me come stronger and makes me want to prove myself. I think it's about learning as a young player that you need to be knocked and then rise back to the challenge. When you get knocked down you have to get straight back up."
