Evans ready to hit summer sales
Rotherham manager Steve Evans is expecting chairman Tony Stewart to splash the cash this summer.
Evans, appointed as Andy Scott's successor a fortnight ago, is the man charged with delivering promotion next season and with an overhaul of his squad planned, he is anticipating significant financial backing.
"I'll be talking to him twice a day, because the closest relationship is with the owner as they ultimately back you," Evans said.
"I would have thought the chairman will be signing some cheques.
"Everything has a cost at the end of the day, but I don't think the chairman would build a new stadium like that and then deny us of some quality on the pitch."
The Millers' purse will be swelled by around £300,000 after Reading's promotion to the Barclays Premier League, which triggered a clause in the transfer of Adam Le Fondre last August and Evans added: "There is a big advantage financially. I'll be asking if I can have it!"
