Evans targets left-back

Rotherham manager Steve Evans has turned his attention to the left-back position as he looks to continue his impressive summer recruitment drive.

Evans has already signed a goalkeeper, right-back and central defender and wants to complete the defensive set by bringing in a left-sided full-back. The 49-year-old has several options lined up and a deal could be imminent. "(Chief executive) Paul Douglas is having a chat with one target in particular, so we are very much on the front foot with that area," Evans said. "We have two or three options for the position, and to be fair I think that either of those options would do a great job for the club. "There are still many factors to consider. Paul Douglas will ensure that any deal will fit into the financial framework and I'm sure he will be on the phone to me if there are any significant developments."
