Halifax move for Gene

Hull KR's Stanley Gene has decided against joining their backroom staff to sign a one-year deal with Halifax.

The veteran 35-year-old has decided to carry on playing for at least one more season and his contract includes a 12-month option with the Championship Grand Finalists.
Gene, a former Papua New Guinea international, has previously played for Bradford Bulls and Huddersfield Giants.
Halifax have revealed they beat off interest from both Super League and Championship clubs to win Gene's signature.
