Long severs St Helens ties
Rugby League, 09:16, June 2, 2009 ,
Long-serving St Helens scrum-half Sean Long has described his move to Hull from the start of the 2010 season as "absolutely fabulous".
Saints had only offered 32-year-old Long, who has played 320 games and won every honour in the domestic game for the Knowsley Road outfit, a one-year deal and Hull coach Richard Agar said he was delighted to snap up a "big name".
"This move is absolutely fabulous. It really excites me and I really believe it is going to revitalise my career," said Long.
"We fully respect Sean's decision. He has secured a two-year deal on very good terms and we wish him well," said St Helens chairman Eamonn McManus.
Agar added: "Sean is a big name in the game and a big signing for us. I think this will be very important for the club in the way we are looking to move forward.
"We have also done well to have beaten off a number of other clubs."
