Leeds Rhinos boss Brian McDermott has admitted the club are waiting on scan results for injured half-back Danny McGuire.
The playmaker sustained a knock to his knee in the 68-24 victory over Widnes Vikings on Friday and Leeds have been sweating over the player's fitness since. With the Challenge Cup final against Warrington Wolves at Wembley later this month, the 29-year-old England international is facing a race against time to be fit for the trip to the capital. McDermott has not ruled McGuire out of the final but has admitted the club will know more after scan results have been assessed by the medical staff at Headingley. He explained to the Yorkshire Evening Post: "We're not sure, but at this stage it is looking more promising than not. "We're not sure of the extent of the damage, we have got to wait a period of time and get it scanned. By Monday or Tuesday we will find out. He came in on Saturday and it wasn't any worse, which is always a great sign."
