Senior stars in Leeds romp

Rugby League, 09:48, May 27, 2009 ,

Keith Senior marked his 300th club appearance for Leeds Rhinos with two tries to earn the champions a 46-10 win over Hull.

The impressive Lee Smith also grabbed a brace, while full-back Brent Webb, centre Carl Ablett and Ryan Hall also got in on the act to move the Rhinos to within two points of leaders St Helens at the top of the Super League table.
Basic errors cost the visitors in a one-sided contest and veteran Senior, one of only five men to have played in all 14 seasons of Super League, was able to capitalise.
Leeds coach Brian McClennan said: "It was a good step forward and a pretty good advancement on where we've been travelling over the last few games. I thought we did a pretty good job overall.
"We've utilised our time off really well. It was a pretty decent side Hull put out. It very tight in the first 20, 30 minutes but you could see we were beginning to get a grip on the game.
"Defensively we lifted up a bit. We know there is still a long way to go but it was nice to be able to assess the team and use the word ruthless about us."
