Smith snubs Gardner and McGuire

Rugby League, 10:19, November 12, 2008 ,

Ade Gardner and Danny McGuire have been left out of England's 19-man squad for the World Cup semi-final against New Zealand.

St Helens winger Gardner - the top scorer in Super League last season - and Leeds half-back McGuire were rested for last weekend's final Pool One clash against the Kiwis and have again been omitted by under-fire coach Tony Smith in his preliminary squad for the last-four showdown in Brisbane on Saturday (kick-off 8.55am GMT).
Leon Pryce is recalled ahead of Rhinos favourite McGuire, while Martin Gleeson switches from stand-off to centre and Jamie Langley is dropped from the bench.
