Thackray furious at McClennan treatment

Rugby League, 10:58, June 30, 2009 ,

Jamie Thackray has launched an astonishing attack on Leeds coach Brian McClennan over the way he was binned off at Headingley.

Thackray comes face-to-face with McClennan and his former Rhinos team-mates on Saturday in Super League with his new club Hull and has stoked up the meeting with a furious tirade at the New Zealander because of how he was snubbed once he had taken over from Tony Smith.
McClennan left him out of a pre-season trip to Florida and dropped him from the opening nine Super League games of the season, as well as the World Club Challenge
The 29-year-old told Rugby League World magazine: "I enjoyed myself at Leeds but Brian McClennan simply didn't want me at the club. He was a p****.
"He couldn't even talk to me a lot of the time - he just gave me a lot of bulls*** and just fobbed me off.
"At one point he even told me I was a gamebreaker and that Leeds had too many of those!"
