Wakefield have been hit by the news prop forward Oliver Wilkes is set to be out for up to eight weeks due to a thumb ligament injury.
Wilkes, who only joined the Wildcats in the close-season from London Broncos, snapped the ligaments in his thumb during last Saturday's 26-22 Stobart Super League win over Salford. Ironically he went on to put in an impressive performance for the remainder of the match, but coach Richard Agar has confirmed that he will now be missing for up to two months of the season. "It is really disappointing because his hard work was paying off and he was excellent against Salford," Agar said.
